Call for "Science as Art" Competition among UW-NTUF Users
Sponsors - FEI, Zeiss, Leica, and Renishaw
Advances in characterization and fabrication approaches at the nanocale are providing exceptional insight into structure and behavior. These approaches underpin all discoveries in the nano world. Although the creation of images is of great significance to the world of science, it can also be object of brilliance and art.
The competition will be open to all NTUF users who are encouraged to create an 11 by 16 inch size "art" including captions of an image and tool name. The art gallery will be displayed in fluke hall on September 19, 2005. We will have several levels of judging: one by the NNIN-NTUF site director, a second by one of CNT/JIN directors, and a third by all short course attendees. Awards will be presented to the top three winning entries at the nanoscale science and technology workshop 2005 on September 20-21, 2005.
To join the competition, please submit the following information to Dr. Dong Qin at dqin@uw.edu by August 8, 2005
