CoursesThe required courses are designed to provide the students a solid foundation in selected areas of nanotechnology, a broad overview of the entire arena of nanotechnology, and the specialized expertise represented by one of the home department fields. 2. Lab RotationLab rotations allow students to get early exposure to multidisciplinary research environments and in addition to their work inside their home department. Students must complete at a least one one-quarter-long research rotation under the supervision of someone who is not their research supervisor, and who is in a department different from that of their supervisor. Students may also fulfill this requirement with an off-site internship. Click here for more information. 3. Thesis ResearchGraduate students qualify for the Optional Ph.D. program only under the conditions that their research advisors are affiliated members of the Center and their thesis research is in nanoscale science and technology.
